Saw you in what’s left of the arcade, you so hardcore No groupie are you, just you and the high score Reaching out with a trembling hand to put a quarter down Why are you here where are your friends in this small town I have never seen anyone so alone It’s about time to put up the phone Press start to begin Press start to begin Press start to begin Press start to begin Giving you the last of my attention, do you wanna go It’s nowhere far just downstairs by the studio Maybe we could talk about the old days, of stores far gone Back when we were kids and this place was a castle for everyone We’ll find the places that cameras forgot Cause the things we do, don’t count for a lot Press start to begin Press start to begin Press start to begin Press start to begin Come home and play on my console with me (repeat) Would you rather be left alone Would you rather stay on your phone Would you rather wear a frown Would you rather be beaten down So instead be a spaz So instead take my hand So instead take a chance So instead kick some ass Press start to begin Press start to begin Press start to begin Press start to begin

I don’t know high / if there is no up Where seeing the whole Milky Way is enough Each breath is deep / your eyes are loud At twenty five thousand miles an hour I don’t know low / if there is no down When you think of who we are and stick around See the fear / and hear the scream Agree, achieve, and move on to the dream Where are we now? Head wreathed by stars, heels dug in the ground Where do we go? We touch all points simultaneously as we grow It makes you scared / that there is no air But there’s a risk of losing it down here To the deck add your charts And from it comes the arrow to the stars Where are we now? Head wreathed by stars, heels dug in the ground Where do we go? We touch all points simultaneously as we grow Why are we here? We get to choose so figure it out for yourself Why do we care? For everyone (stuck in the gravity well) It’s getting automated, humanity elevated Or at least we have the time With all the technical progress, we’ll find an inward congress We all rise with the tide Where are we now? Head wreathed by stars, heels dug in the ground Where do we go? We touch all points simultaneously as we grow Why are we here? We get to choose so figure it out for yourself Why do we care? For everyone (stuck in the gravity well) When do we sing? We sing right now and for all eternity When do we fly? We start right now and I guess I figured out high

Common wisdom makes no sense That’s the reason there are labels There’s a look that is so intense Igniting the way before its unstable She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB There ain’t no way to put her out She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB If you set her off just give me a shout If you set her off just give me a shout Pyrophoric looks will cook you In her eyes a flaming green No safe way to douse this stew Like nothing you have ever seen She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB There ain’t no way to put her out She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB If you set her off just give me a shout If you set her off just give me a shout It was you that freed this tempest Now you just gotta let it burn Starving of oxygen would be best Question is, when will you learn She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB There ain’t no way to put her out She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB If you set her off just give me a shout If you set her off just give me a shout She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB There ain’t no way to put her out She's nothing but trouble she's just like TEA/TEB If you set her off just give me a shout If you set her off just give me a shout

Snake Oil 02:50
When you lie to me, it feels so good Sell me hope with a real steep bill of goods Here’s all I am worth, to someone like you Count it out and stash it in your shoe Who cares if I don’t get the result I wished for Woah, the price, of laughing at the fool Yeah, it means, that the next one could be you I can’t seem to get you out of my head All I need is some snake oil before bed Thought of life without you fills me with dread Nothing wrong with some snake oil before bed All through the night, I think of the day When you begged me on your knees to stay When I came back in you looked away Coming up with reasons not to stray Will there ever be a time that We don’t get tired Woah, the price, of falling for the babe Yeah, it means, that you never get away I can’t seem to get you out of my head All I need is some snake oil before bed Thought of life without you fills me with dread Nothing wrong with some snake oil before bed

I’ve got 40 pounds of TNT In my 1997 Chevy Caprice Don’t ask me how I got ahold of that Cause I keep a lot of secrets in my wide brimmed hat I got snake skin boots and a bolo tie And a huge belt buckle from the WY Metal and leather and a heavy load But I’m all dressed up with no place to explode They call me the fixer ain’t got nothing to fix They don’t want my tools or my dynamite sticks Leftover surplus from the Warsaw Pact Kept in a bunker in case of attack If they track me down I got to go into hiding So they don’t find my rocket with the aluminum siding Got nowhere to be so I stay on the road And I’m all dressed up with no place to explode Got an orange sticker says 1.1 Can’t leave it by the road, can’t tell anyone Can’t fly it out on an aeroplane Gonna try and trade it all for some Mary Jane So if you want a good time with some dynamite I tell you sir (or madam) that it is your night If you’re all dressed up and looking to explode Barter, favor, or cash, come see me after the show

Hey, your friend said I should get to know you He said you’re the wonder of this age So I said why not, look at this big brain I’ve got Maybe we could find we’re on the same page We stayed up all night my mind enraptured Then I looked you up like everyone does Then I saw pages and pages of facts and opinions I found out that no one can get enough (of you, because) You’re up, you’re down, you’re charming and strange From your top to your bottom you’re constantly changing We got so much to do but my only regret Is that I don’t understand you yet You are just so...unpredictable I need some time to think this through It’s not you that’s got me into this spot I need you to fit in my worldview You’re up, you’re down, you’re charming and strange From your top to your bottom you’re constantly changing We got so much to do but my only regret Is that I don’t understand you yet I couldn’t find the hidden meaning behind it all I know you’re disappointed that you could not be solved Someone better than me will come along And he will write you a more understanding song You’re up, you’re down, you’re charming and strange From your top to your bottom you’re constantly changing We got so much to do but my only regret Is that I don’t understand you yet Is that I don’t understand you yet

Love Memo 03:25
Did you get my love memo? I sent it through the limbo My instant messages scroll too slow I need to tell you how I really feel I use my big words so you know it's real My nether tubes / vibrate for you Got a dozen hearts / all beatin' in tune If my words were smooth / like the love between me and you I would never lose / the feeling that comes from you I wish I could write / and read good too Then I could read the memo / that came from you Did you get my love memo? I sent it through the limbo My instant messages scroll too slow I need to tell you how I really feel I use my big words so you know it's real Girl you the most everything / I strain every time I think To compare to your pretty pink / know what I mean, nudge nudge wink wink Good morning baby / feel more good The stuff between me and you / like white oreo goo If only my words were great / like the love you and I make Like that time in the trailer park / best steak I ever ate Did you get my love memo? I sent it through the limbo My instant messages scroll too slow I need to tell you how I really feel I use my big words so you know it's real Oh yeah like tasty chitlins / and chicken wings I wanna eat you up / more than most anything Like the sunrise / on a pretty lake Oh love with you / I want to make But the words / never seem to come I think of something good to say / but it only sounds dumb Only my heart can know / the pretty things that make you so Well, did you get my / did you get my... Did you get my love memo? I sent it through the limbo My instant messages scroll too slow I need to tell you how I really feel I use my big words so you know it's real

Self Driven 03:23
I did not believe them when they predicted That my truck would drive itself one day I adopted early and was unrestricted For my new DD was here to stay I'm glad they solved the Trolley Problem Now I can drink and ride around in peace But no driver protection algorithm Could ever really prepare me My truck done left me just like my old lady R-U-N-N-O-F-T that's what it did to me My truck done left me just like my old lady In the parking lot of a shuttered old K-Mart Google's got the AI and lots of gadgets too And Tesla's got a real mean battery I'm waiting for old man Bezos to deliver That Amazon drone delivery Sitting in my rocking chair with my shotgun in the air On the front porch while Prime invades my sky It's just like shooting little clay pigeons But if you hit one you also get a prize My truck done left me just like my old lady R-U-N-N-O-F-T that's what it did to me My truck done left me just like my old lady In the parking lot of a shuttered old K-Mart Elon is shaking things up so they say Hyperloops and drone ships save the day His disruptions won’t ever bring her back This ain’t about my dog, my ex, or my pay With a two tone paint job and a LineX bed She used to recalculate just for me But now she’s on the highway on her own She’s never coming back around for me My truck done left me just like my old lady R-U-N-N-O-F-T that's what it did to me My truck done left me just like my old lady In the parking lot of a shuttered old K-Mart My truck done left me just like my old lady R-U-N-N-O-F-T that's what it did to me My truck done left me just like my old lady In the parking lot of a shuttered old K-Mart

about

This album is the culmination of much delayed effort. Foot Pound Force started in 2007 as an avenue for a few engineer musicians to vent some creative steam. We had no idea how many songs would result from this collaboration. It took us a long time to finally get in the studio for a serious project, and the results (we hope) speak for themselves.
